Logan Clark Stoltzfus

It's not just another Saturday for Clark and Kara. Today we, along with their friends and family, remember Logan and his short life on earth. It's difficult to believe that it's been 3 years since he was born. Sometimes it seems like yesterday, but then I look at Tyler, (he and Logan are six months apart) and I realize how much time has passed. We spent some time at Kara's parents home last week, Kara wrote beautifully about it, a very special moment that Tyler and Logan shared. You can read it here. I still think about how sweet it would be to see a little "Jake" and "Clark" running around. Logan looked so much like his Daddy and I'm sure he would have continued to grow in that and we all know how much Tyler resembles Jake. It's just sad. I don't really have any other words, because....well, I just don't. Wish you were here Logan. "Think of your child; then, not as dead, but as living;
not as a flower that has withered, but as one that is transplanted,
and touched by a divine hand, is blooming in richer colors and sweeter shades than those on earth."

you did WHAT?

It's Autumn. That means several things to me, the most important, GOING TO THE LOCAL FAIRS AND EATING FOOD....oh, and making fun memories along the way for the kiddos! I have such fond memories of going to all the local fairs/parades. The New Holland Fair was my first "alone outing", you remember, where you actually are trusted enough to walk the unruly streets of New Holland, at night, with nary an adult in tow! Oh, the coolness that emanated from my being! I was thrilled and showed it too. I use to make my way to the "center" where myriads of other cool folks, drenched in cologne/perfume would stand around all night long....and emanate coolness. That's when the world was ALL ABOUT ME.

I like it better this way....dressing comfortably, hand in hand with my hubby, parting the sea of people with our purple beast, (aka double stroller), watching my boys eyes light up as they see all the funness that surrounds them and feeding them food that could quite possibly clog their arteries! Yes, that's the way a fair should be done!
At this particular fair, we decided to take the boys to pet the animals. We're sitting there waiting for the return of Daddy with the FOOD, I've found a nice hay bale and the boys have found a nice cow. We are enjoying the evening, (see picture below). Suddenly this cow makes a very loud, odd noise and practically JUMPS to her feet....I grab the boys, one in each arm and fling them away from this mad cow. We get to our feet and while I'm dusting them off, I casually say, "I wonder what happened." Tyler replies, holding fingers up, "Oh, I touched it's hiney!" I gasp, "YOU DID WHAT?" With grin in cheek, "I touched it's hiney!" I fumble for the antibacterial gel, the baby wipes and anything else I can think of to cleanse the hands of my son! After they were SCRUBBED, I loaded them up and strolled away and I will admit that by this time I was laughing....only a boy would sit there and examine this cows butt and wonder, "what will happen if I do THIS????"

Moral of story: keep little boys away from cows butts....or any other animals butts for that matter!

Happy Thursday, it's 3 a.m. and I just finished eating a banana with peanut butter....hey, when you actually feel like eating, just eat whatever you can, whenever you can!! Here's to hoping this all day "morning sickness" is on it's way out!

all in a days work

yeah, I won't post a photo with this particular post. it began like any other day, (minus my one 18 month old son being in rare form...I don't think he's felling well). Anyway, this particular son decides to take his diaper off, (I had taken his pj's off and thought he was headed upstairs, where he would be dressed for the day), alas, he made a pit stop in the kitchen, climbed upon my new CREAM colored chair, took his diaper off, pooped on the chair and smeared it on the window....all this in less then 60 seconds! yes, the joys, the glamour, the fabulousness of mothering!!

oh, and I hit my head so hard today I thought I would cry, I was picking up toys and forgot about the shelf sitting nicely above my head. I knocked everything off, it was quite the noise....you should have seen the boys eyes. I cleaned it all up and asked them to kiss my head, then I felt better.

went to the grocery store to get out. that was fun. seriously, it was. I go to this Amish place called BB's, (bent and bruised, or bruised and bargains, or something along those lines). I decided to head out around 3:25, they close at 4! So, it was a good little outing for all. It's like a treasure hunt, this place, you never know what you'll find. It's 8 p.m. and I believe I will put the children to bed, make some cookies, pour a cup of cold milk and watch the Presidential debates....it's just another day.

Broken

Here's the beginnings of the short film I was honored to have a part of, directed by Gentry Austin. It was a change for me, working with film instead of theatre. I'm use to performing on stage and having only one shot to get it right, but this time was different. It wasn't only about me and how I felt in that scene....the lighting had to be right, the props in place, the other actors/actresses had to be on cue and finally the Director had to be pleased. It was an emotionally draining few days, but well worth it. My character went through some rough times in life and I was intent on portraying her as best I could. I'll keep you posted on the final product, which I have no doubt will be amazing!!!
