Silver-haired wisdom

It's a dreary, rainy day around here. The kind of day that makes me want to stay in pj's and eat brownies and watch t.v.!! All of which I have been doing this entire day. During the kiddies nap time, I came upon this show called "Raising an Amazing Generation" and decided to watch that instead of some cooking show that will make me feel like the *most*boring*cook*ever*.
At first I thought she looked familiar and then I remembered that "witch doctor" on "The Princess Bride" and laughed because they kind of look like each other!! "I'm not a witch, I'm your wife and after what you just said I'm not sure I even want to be that anymore!"
See for yourself!! Anywho, I wondered how on earth this silver haired lady would have any applicable advice for me, boy, was I wrong. I have been so encouraged and look forward to tuning in again tomorrow at 1:30pm on the "inspiration network", channel 259 if you have dish network. *disclaimer: you may not find much else "inspiring" on this channel, humorous, yes, inspiring....not so sure!*.

Here's a little snippet about the series:
"As parents, we hope we will make a difference in the lives of our children--that we will impart our moral beliefs to them and create a loving environment in which they can grow and learn. But sometimes we wonder if what we say or do has any effect on our children at all. You may wonder if your job as a parent is of any value--if you're doing enough to help your children grow up to be strong, vital men and women of faith. Or maybe you think you've helped them too much. Will they be fully prepared to take on the many challenges they will face in this world? C.K. Ardizzone offers advice and encouragement as well as many practical steps you can take to build a strong, healthy family on Raising an Amazing Generation." Okay, YES PLEASE, thank you!!!!

If you can take 22 minutes of your day, here's some good food for your Mother Soul, (when you arrive at the video, click "menu" and it will give you a selection of videos to choose from). If we're being honest here I'll have to say that the one sentence that really stuck out to me today was along these lines, if "loosing it" becomes the NORMAL, then there's trouble. It just was comforting to know that I'm not the only one who has those crazy, meltdown, breaking moments. Let's just keep them FEW and FAR BETWEEN!

My first being hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint."

ok, and now that i'm totally embarrassed.....yes, it was a wonderfully uplifting 30 minutes. However the remainder of the programming seemed quite out of my age range and personal taste. But I did get a kick out of the outfits & hairdos from the 80's! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment Greg.
